Hello friend of Green Change,

We hope you had a wonderful summer.

This month, Green Change invites you to join two special events featuring Climate Arts and Politics:

Read on for event details. We hope you can come, get inspired and take action with us!

Visit our Climate Art Exhibit

Come play with us at our Climate Art Exhibit next weekend, Sep. 14-15 at the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival, from 10am to 5pm.

In this year’s featured presentation, Bay Area artists will explore the climate crisis through the lens of contemporary art, in collaboration with Green Change. Together, we will transform the redwood grove at Old Mill Park into a creative space for engagement and climate action.

Artworks are designed to start conversations about sustainability and to inspire people to go green through art, craft activities, and environmental games for all ages:

  • play corn hole games about our food choices
  • make seed balls with wildflower seeds and soil
  • make origami houses with LED lights and learn about home energy
  • watch videos of young activists and their climate actions

We are excited to be collaborating with these talented artists: Ann Dodge, Tess Felix, Fabrice Florin, Janey Fritsche, Al Grumet, Aurora Mahassine and Randy Rosenberg. Learn more about this exhibit.

Let’s Talk about Climate Politics

Would you like to take political action to fight climate change?

Come to our Climate Politics Meetup at Good Earth in Mill Valley on Wed. Sep. 25, from 6 to 8pm.

During this free community event, you will learn about climate justice, the Green New Deal, carbon pricing, and how to support young activists and green politicians.

We will feature talks by these climate action leaders:

After the talks, we will discuss our personal experiences with climate politics, and talk about collective actions we can take to solve the climate crisis.REGISTER HERE to save your spot, as space is limited.

This free community meetup is sponsored by Good Earth and takes place in their new classroom, at 201 Flamingo Rd., Mill Valley, CA 94941.

We encourage you to invite a friend, relative or neighbor to come with you. We welcome young people, ages 14 and up.

Come to our next meetups

To learn more about going green, we invite you to come to our next Green Change Meetups:

Would you like to improve your home, save money and fight climate change? Do you want to know more about weatherizing your home? switching to LEDs and electric appliances? preparing for wildfires? Come learn how to make your home greener, safer and more efficient. Sign up for this free event.

Sustainable Food – Nov. 13, 6-8pm at Good Earth

Did you know that you can fight climate change by eating sustainable food? Would you like to learn how to eat a plant-rich diet? reduce food waste? cook yummy dishes from local organic farmers? support sustainable agriculture? Discover new ways to eat sustainably!  Sign up for this free event.

Many thanks to our friends at Good Earth for sponsoring our meetups! Each month, we cover a different theme to help you go green, with short talks on simple actions you can take, followed by a group discussion connecting experts with newbies.

Our meetups are hosted by Green Change director Fabrice Florin, who is featured in this month’s Good Earth newsletter. To see how our meetups work, watch this video of our last event, view photos and slides of our talks, or visit our Clean Transportation Guide.
